Reserving Analyst

We are currently recruiting for a Reserving Analyst to join our established and experienced Finance team here at RSA on a hybrid basis. Your role The key purpose of the Reserving Consultant role and the Reserving Analyst role is to carry out high-quality actuarial analysis that feeds into the reserve review and booking process. Role holders will be involved in the reserve input process in order to ensure the best quality information and insight is available for the reserve review work. You will be involved in the reserve output process and be required to explain the results of their work and what it means to senior actuaries and stakeholders throughout the business. Although dedicated to "reserving class towers", Reserving Consultants and Analysts will support wider Corporate Actuarial work as necessary and embrace new technology, techniques and processes to help drive continuous change and improvement. Consultants and Analysts will periodically rotate between different "reserving class towers" to spread knowledge and expertise, and to provide variety of work. Analysts will typically be around the actuarial trainee or part-qualified actuary level, whereas Consultants will typically be around the nearly or newly qualified actuary level. The key difference is Consultants will be able to work with increased responsibility and require less direction. Consultants will be expected to guide and support Analysts in achieving their goals. About you To be successful in this role you will need good communication skills, coupled with stakeholder management skills. You will have good numeracy, mathematical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. You will have good technology skills and having exposure to any of the following tools would be beneficial but not essential, (e.g. Excel, Emblem, Radar, VBA, R, Earnix etc). Projects Actuarial Analyst (SII IFRS17)

We are currently recruiting for a Projects Actuarial Analyst to join our established and experienced Corporate Actuarial team here at RSA on a hybrid basis. Your role The key purpose of your role is to be part of the team that prepares, analyses, calculates, improves, validates and reports on all Solvency II/UK and IFRS17 aspects of our reserves and technical provisions outside the actuarial analysis covering IELR calibration, actuarial indication patterns and methodology in the reserve review and roll-forward booking. The other main purpose of this role is to work as part of the team responsible for all project, development and improvement work within the Corporate Actuarial function. This is the work to drive change through new technologies, techniques and ways or working to relentlessly improve our actuarial services. The working day timetable requirements around the SII/UK and IFRS17 booking responsibilities, combined with the global nature of our team, will require occasional working day/hour flexibility particularly at quarter-end booking. We are currently recruiting for a Financial Control Accountant to join our established and experienced Finance team here at RSA on a hybrid basis for a 9 month FTC. Your role As our Financial Control Accountant, you will be operating within a demanding and changing statutory and regulatory environment. This role is key to the UK Financial Control team, supporting compliance with relevant RSA and IFC Group policies and underpinning the Canadian NI52-109 regulatory standard for internal financial controls. Your work must therefore be undertaken with a high degree of professional excellence, diligence, and tenacity. You will work closely with the Financial Control Business Partners, providing support and driving improvements within the financial control environment of the UK business. You will spend your time undertaking controls design and operating effectiveness testing, as well as supporting the business through any required remediation activity to ensure an effective financial control environment. As part of the quarterly reporting cycle, you will support the UK&I Financial Control Team Leader in the collation of reporting MI. You will add value through your flexibility, understanding of how things work in RSA, and your pragmatic approach to testing and remediation. About you Experience in financial controls within the financial services environment is essential for this role. A thorough understanding of processes is essential, allowing for the identification and assessment of key financial reporting risks and the design of appropriate controls. As a self-starter, you will thrive under tight deadlines, effectively manage expectations across diverse stakeholder groups, and adhere to RSA protocols and procedures, including confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
