IT Security Interview Questions
Most interviews start with an introduction to your soft skills and personality and general knowledge about yourself for example.
It is likely that interviews for an IT Security role would start the same way, however, as you are interviewing for a technical role, it is very likely that after a brief introduction to your character, the interview questions will become more in depth and test your expertise.
We have put together some commonly asked IT Security interview questions. (There’s a link to the answers at the bottom!)
Commonly Asked IT Security Questions
- What is the difference between IT Security and Information Security?
- What is the different between proxy and firewall?
- How does NAT work?
- Can you explain a Man In The Middle attack?
- What are Honeypots?
- What is a buffer overflow?
- Can you explain what a false positive is?
In IT Security interviews, when answering technical questions it is advisable to keep your answers short and precise. This is a great way to come across as knowledgeable and confident.
