What does a SAP Professional do?

SAP, the company, develops business software to help with Enterprise Resource Planning or ERP. SAP professionals are those who know the software created by SAP and are well versed in the uses as well of the pros and cons of each of the different SAP software.

Due to the massive uptake of Sap software there are several options of where you can work as a SAP expert. There are a wealth of SAP contract jobs available, so there is the option of working for yourself and becoming a contractor, however if this isn’t for you then you could work for a consultancy that installs or  manages SAP software for its clients, or even go to work for SAP directly.

As a SAP expert there are a wide variety of roles that you could look in to, from

SAP project Management

to

SAP consultant jobs

, to

SAP analyst

or SAP technician. Similar to the wider IT environment there is a diverse range of SAP jobs that you can investigate whilst only focussing on SAP software.

As a SAP professional you will:

  • Have a good knowledge of all SAP software
  • Understand the pros and cons of the various SAP software
  • Be SAP qualified
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with SAP projects
  • Analytical and creative thought
  • Ability to deliver activities to tight timescales

A SAP professional will normally work between 37 and 40 hours per week, but when deadlines require it, you will be expected to work longer to ensure a project is completed to time.

The average salary for an SAP professional is around £55,000, so if you have the relevant qualifications and a good level of experience then this is the sort of wage you could expect to be earning. As an SAP expert, you could look at earning in excess of £80,000 if you have several years’ experience.

As a SAP contractor the average daily rate is approximately £450.

The majority of

are situated in and around London, however other key locations for SAP jobs include Surrey, Manchester and Birmingham.
