Is anyone else getting really F'd off with Design Week calling us 'freelances"?
At first I thought it was a spell-check problem, as I have never been called, or referred to as 'a freelance', only ever as a 'freelancer'! And all the other 'freelances' I have met also call themselves 'freelanceRs'.
I know the term comes from the original medieval meaning for a 'hired warrior', but freelancer IS in the Oxford dictionary, and the term Wikipedia use.
I sent an email to the letters page, only to receive a snooty self important reply from Lynda Relph-Knight, telling me that yes THEY were right.
I for one shall be sending another letter today, following this weeks article on the Demand for Freelances! Can I suggest you do the same. Emails should be sent to Lynda, see contact us on designweek.co.uk. They will HAVE to print one of them.
My therapy session is now over, thank you for listening.
