Hi All,
I am a freelance graphic designer with over 8 years experience and I am looking for other web/illustrator/graphics designers to perhaps join my company on a job to job basis to begin with.
I would really like to start up my own design company and am looking for others who are in the same position as I am (freelancing) and who want to build a business. A cool company of course! I already have the ceramic deadly gnomes and a rabbit
Of course to begin with it will be a few of us sitting in some coffee shop or one of our flats with our laptops and burning the midnight oil but we have to start somewhere!
I thought I would throw this idea out there to see if there are anyone who might be interested? Or even if you are interested in starting a design alliance where we share clients...ie if you are too busy to take on a job then pass it on to another and vice versa.
My main skills are in ideas, branding, logos, layout and web look and feel. If you think you can complement the skills please get in contact

It is about experience and what you can offer. Looking at your portfolio you should place yourself as a web designer more than a graphics/artworker as you do not have any commercial print work. ie brochures, advertising, brand identity etc. So I would suggest you to get some commercial work in there. Make it up if you have to.
Right now if I were you I would look for both full time and freelance work. You might get freelance work that should tide you over while looking for your perfect full time job. :)
Nice site by the way 😃

It depends on the client. You should sus them out. Get a brief from them. If you feel they are going to be fussy. Work per hour. If you feel that you know exactly what the client wants then charge per job. And if you feel you are working too much on a job at the set price then let your client know that you will need to charge extra for your time. That usually stops them from being too fussy haha.
Good luck.
Don't ever under charge because you have to remember you have to pay for taxes, your insurance and health insurance!

Hi Adam,
I did the same thing. But I didn't have any savings! woops. haha.
What I did was find clients and worked freelance after hours while still in my full time position.
So start getting your website out there. Get onto freelance websites like view creatives, freelance alliance UK, creativepool.co.uk
Also if you work inhouse and you have a good relationship with your printers and suppliers tell them to keep you in mind if they have any freelance work.
Good luck
