Hey,
Congratulations on breaking free from the 9-to-5 world! Twitter leads are great. I would definitely recommend bidding platforms like UpWork or Elance. Beyond that, continue to build your web presence: Twitter posts, LinkedIn page, Facebook updates, etc. Upload a video resume to YouTube. Tag all of this content with your name or pseudonym.

There are a lot of good marketing tips in the Rapid Business Lessons freelance course, too. Different assets get assessed. If you're not going to bother (it's free - you should), then I'd say the main takeaway is to not be sucked into AdWords paid promotion, and o never mess with Spam mail.

Have you discussed the terms of your contract yet? Some people prefer to pay an hourly wage, while others will want a "stipend" amount to be paid upfront. Knowing this can really help us get an idea of what the employer is expecting/willing to pay.

Otherwise, Andrew has given an excellent breakdown of an appropriate pay scale.

Definitely look into the wealth of online hiring platforms that we have available to us nowadays. LinkedIn and other social assets become useful "at-a-glance" resumes, and they're of particular value if you're marketing yourself as an SEO agent of some kind (writer, web design, etc).

but checking online freelancer listing is best. You can build an account reputation, show customer reviews, etc.
