Hi
I've been operating as a limited company for 20 months now. I've just been lucky enough to be offered a full time position after not having any freelance work since the beginning of December.
But to my shock I have just been quoted £375 +VAT to close the company and £350 +VAT to do final end of year accounts.
This seem a awful lot and was a bit of a shock. Can anyone tell me if this seems too much.
Any advice would be welcome.
Many thanks

I'm not an accountant, but that does seem a bit much. Definately worth shopping around. Why not call, say three local accountants to get a quote. At least you'll know if it's in the right ballpark.
All the best in your new position!

Hi Dusk
From experience, I think that £375 is quite reasonable. Most accountants I know won't even lift a finger for less than £1,000k. The other factor to think about is that the amount of work the accountant has to do is directly related to how tidy the books currently are.
