Freelance? How?

Greetings all. I'm brand spanking (ok, well maybe less of the spanking) new to this freelance lark and have the most basic questions of them all: How do I set myself up as a freelancer? I honestly don't know who or what I have to register with so any help from you lovely educated and experienced people would be marvellous! :D Thanks in advance. Ian

Register with your tax-office as a sole trader, that's all there is to it basically. :happy
