Good to hear from you 🙂
Is this site just about you personally? Or is it to sell your work? It looks OK but I'm less than sure what you do or what you want people to do on your site.
If you want to publicise your work I'd say you need to be very clear what you're offering and help guide people through your home page a bit more.
Not sure if that helps  -

Yes it always helps to hear other peoples views. I'm in a difficult place at the moment because I am trying to get my personality and work across as I am looking for a placement. The likelyhood of finding one that I want though is looking less and less likely so I am considering taking the personality element out and showcasing my work fully. -

I see what you mean about getting the personality across, but I personally would have needed to click into your "about me" page to get that. I think the home page should say "Hi my name's Shaun, I'm a second year multimedia student looking for a work placement, have a look at my work below and get in touch here".
That way if you approach time-starved companies who might hire you, you can just give them your URL and it'll take them 6 seconds to get the gist and find a quick way to get in touch with you.
If the objectives of your website change then you can change the home page too, but if a workplacement is what you're after then IMHO you need to base your home page around that for now. Will be interested to hear what others think on here.
How are you getting on making potential hirers aware of you? -

I've actually done pretty well in terms of getting work. I did transport design for my first year as multimedia don't do very much at all first year. So i got a wide range of skills including great conceptual and drawing skills.
I've established a steady flow of work in which i can do a full week and people are gradually recommending me to more and more people.
It's a big consideration to carry on freelance for a year but it feels like i should do a placement.
I feel like i've got alot to offer a company that takes me on for a placement, i'm by far the strongest on the degree course. -
