invoicing advice please:)
I have just started freelancing and want to know what the best process for invoicing is. The company has a history of 'questioning' payments.
If I send an invoice is that enough or do I need a contract or a signature?
obvious and simple question I know but, I want to make sure my first proper job is not a legal disaster.

- You could ask them for a Purchase Order? I've sometimes sent a copy of the brief with an estimate attached to the client and requested they sign off both. I'm sure there is a more sophisticated name for that process.
Someone once said to me that setting out your stall from the get go and voicing concerns as soon as they appear will save heartache and lawyers at the end.
Just my two cents worth! - Yes be up front about it, and if you have cause for concern get a purchase order from them, or have your estimate signed off before you start the work.

will do, I also downloaded some invoice/contracty template thing which I will ask them to sign.
