NCTJ qualification
Hi there!
Can someone please tell me how useful is an NCTJ qualification?
Will it help me get into a newspaper company? Will it provide me with the knowledge needed to be a better journalist?
I have also been looking at Sheffield College for a fast track course in Newspaper journalism, a 17-week course, which prepares the student for the NCTJ exam. Can you tell me if it is a good college and offers quality education?

Thank you for sharing your opinion. I too have five years of journalism experience behind me, albeit in a different country. Since I have to start afresh here, I thought an NCTJ qualification will open doors to employment opportunities. Besides it will enable me to find out how things work here.
Anyways, your reply has been of great help. I checked out your website and found it quite impressive. I see you also have a degree in creative writing. May I ask, where did you do the course from? How useful has it been? Thanks.
