Hi there,
I have just gone freelance, and am being paid PAYE through one company and then with the other companies I have to pay my own tax and NI. Please can someone give me advice on this? Should I insist on not going PAYE? Also, does this mean I pay less NI to the inland revenue when paying the rest?
Also how does this affect my tax and my expenses?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Seems strange they got you on PAYE this does however cover them from any nasty shocks from the inland revenue. If you are serious about freelanceing and you are getting busy become self employed or even better still a limited company there are a lot of ways of getting tax relief but can be a bit of a nightmare when you do your return. You may be entitled to holiday pay from your PAYE client if you work alot there
