The organisation behind the popular British micro-computer has now unveiled its latest iteration - the Raspberry Pi 3, which now comes with built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Not only will The Raspberry Pi 3 include an integrated 802.11n wireless LAN and built-in Bluetooth 4.1 but it will feature a faster 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU - 10x the performance of the Raspberry Pi 1.

The Raspberry Pi is also set to become the best-selling UK computer ever as sales as are set to surpass the Amstrad PCW, the former bestselling UK computer, which was estimated to have sold around 8 million units.

Founded by Eben Upton, The Pi Foundation has been a revelation in the teaching of computing and coding all across the world. The Pi was designed to encourage

programming

and development in both schools, the workplace and at home. Scratch, the programming language included with Pi, is a great language for learning the basics of programming and coding. It employs an intuitive drag-and-drop system so you don't have to remember commands in order to make the learning process simpler for the inexperienced and the younger generation.

However, it has become very popular with many tech enthusiasts who have started using the Raspberry Pi devices for a variety of reasons from smart home gadgets to home computers. There were also signs that interest in Computer Science courses had risen, with Mr Upton saying that the Pi's popularity had boosted an overall interest in coding and technology.

"The curve keeps trending upwards" said Upton to the BBC. "The two main things that people do with their Pi are using it as a PC replacement or use it as an embedded computer."

The launch of the Raspberry Pi 3 would also give people the ability to link different devices together using its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology. The device will go on sale for £30 and a few hundred thousand units will be available from online stores on launch day.
