Hi I have just started up a small freelance design business. I have created an advertisement for a client, which was used in a local newspaper. But for some reason they changed the layout of the advert, and the logo that was used for a particular product in the advert was altered from the original style, it was the same font but there was no letter spacing or horizontal scaling to it. Can this be done without my permission, as I didn't think that it was as good as the one I created. Obviously I would hope that if someone was to ask my client where they got their advert made, they would say me, but I wouldn't want this particular advert associated with my work.
Has anyone encountered similar problems or do you have a system in place so this can't happen?
Any advice gratefully received, thanks

Hi
I find that resolution a bit high myself, 300 dpi has always been sufficient for litho printing for me. As it has been exported to a jpeg from InDesign, if you have photoshop you can open it in that, then go to Image - Image size and change the resolution in the resolution box, you might need to fiddle with the check boxes to keep the dimensions the same. Mine are all checked and the image dimensions do not change.
.pdf Export, dialogue box click on compression, (not 100% sure if this is correct this is what I would change), you have colour images, greyscale and monochrome, depending on any images, I would change the pixel per inch here.
Hope this helps
