Hi I thought to introduce myself!
My name is Lisa and I am Illustrator/digital colourist based in the North East. This year I started to get busy freelance work wise, so from reading the website I decided to get official and registered with the HRMC.
I have a normal job working full time, so at the moment I work evenings and weekends freelance. I don’t expect to earn a lot as I am going to opt out of paying national insurance. I use a business pay pal account to accept payments from clients, which In turn I withdraw periodically to my personal bank account.
Would that be enough business accounting wise? Or would I need to open a second bank account to withdraw funds to from the pay pal account?
Also I am very new to book keeping etc, I was planning to keep paper records of all jobs completed as well as their invoices, what else would I need to do?
I already have my own website and online portfolio; I am preparing to apply for jobs now through freelance websites, as before people has emailed me direct.
Is there anyone else I need to do start up wise? Or I am good to go?
Also I was purely curious what other freelancers do day job wise?
Thanks in Advance! Lisa
