I am a freelance graphic designer working from home and I desperately need to invest in a decent new printer. There are so many on the market I don't really know where to start looking. I need to provide high quality proofs for my clients as well as presentations and sometimes have to print on card and CDs. I already have a scanner and don't need a fax so all-in-one not necessary. Ideally looking for ink jet. Can anyone recommend a good printer? I have been looking at Canon's as I'm told they are less prone to blocked heads. Would really appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

I have been working as a freelance graphic designer for 6 years now. I have just been registered as a sole trader and had an accountant do my accounts and tax return. I've had no real issues with that until recently where I have come across clients and recruitment agencies who will only work with me if I am a Limited Company.

I have done a lot of research in to this and was even introduced to a company called Crunch.co.uk. From what I can see (I have done a free trial) Crunch seem to be pretty good and have been so helpful, they make becoming Limited seem so straight forward and easy to manage. My acountant however is of a different view and is pleading with me not to become Limited.

I really don't know what to do, can anyone offer me any advice? I am tempted to go Limited but I don't know if I am just complicating things for myself and going to cost myself more in the long run.

Thanks!
