Hi all,
I have a contract with a UK recruitment agency to act as a freelancer for 1 year at a specific company. Due to some reasons I'm thinking to finish the contract before it will expiry. I have a statement in the contract that I cannot work directly or through another agency for the same client for several months after the contract is finished. My question is, can I brake this contract statement? Is it fair to claim this in a freelancer contract? I know that in some countries the recruitment agency cannot force a freelancer to do this. I don't know what is the situation in UK.
Thanks for any help.

You could try talking to the agency to see if they'll release you from the contract to work elsewhere and if they do agree to any deviation from what's said in the contract make sure you get it in writing.
