Getting myself known
Good day all,
Im a 19 year old student just finishing college and looking to go to High Wycombe university to do a degree in Graphic design and Advertising. Since comming to the end of my college years I was wondering if I could go part time freelance as it were, just to get my face and name out there and mabye earn a bit of cash on the way, so freelance seemed to be the way to go.
Is this a good idea, if so where should i begin?
The advice would be much appreciated.:)

Personally I think you should live the experience in University first. My advise would be to put your time into your portfolio, with projects set by yourself if need be, the disipline will pay off.

Agree with Cathering, concentrate on the degree and having fun đ
I know students have a lot of expenditure these days though and also practical experience can sometimes be worth more than education when looking for a job so I would not say do not do any freelance work!
If you can get the punters in and it does not affect your degree work then go for it - far better than shelf stacking or bar work.
Can't think of any reason why you could not register as self employed with HMRC or set up a Limited Co if the earnings were good:

Might affect you being able to sign on / claim housing benefit etc after you have finished your degree though so I would seek professional advice before signing up to anything...
