gif animator

Hi, a 'pick your brains' question. Any recommendations for a gif animator software? I'm new to this and google throws up a couple of thousand, and though they all seem to be comparable I'd definitely prefer user knowledge before I buy.

Ulead GIF Animator 5.0 is highly-rated and uses simple drag-and-drop editing. CoffeeCup is a bit older and maybe a bit complex, but it's pretty efficient. But y'know what? There are actually softwares that allow testing before you buy the product. be patient and try some. choose what is more comfortable to you. :grin
