I'm trying to get into Freelance photography and a field I take a lot of interest in is sport and football in particular. But I can't find any information about how to take photographs at sport events. How can I go to a football ground, and be in the bit at the sidelines where the photographers are and take some photographs to sell to Newspapers or magazines.
Any help I'd be very grateful to receive thanks.

my best advice is to start at a lower level and contact a lower leauge club offer to supply them with some pictures and they will proberly let you go down as more often as not they have a web site and might put them up on that at least you work will being seen and the expericance you will get is invaluable
also study the football pages in the press and see what type of shots get published and try and aim for those yourself
also contact your local paper to see if they are intrested in publishing some of them you never know
this is the route i have taken and last season i applyed for a postion at a leauge club as official photographer
most of the photos i sent in was of the ones i took at the lower leauge and got the job. after a trail so it is possable
but the truth is it may take a season or so to get there and it is not easy to break into but if you stick at it you never know
