Hi guys
I know this is a topic that's been done to death but just thought I'd fish for some answers cos I think I might be getting underpaid.
I'm a print designer with 7 years experience and I live in London. I'm working freelance through an agency and they are paying me £16 per hour.
Does this sound reasonable to you guys?
I just get the feeling they should be paying me more, but I'm not a very assertive person and I tend just to take what I'm offered.

Hi Suzanne,
If you have 7 years design experience, you should be charging around £20 - £23 per hour for working within central London.
Thanks

It might be because your PAYE.
If you are working for a company through an agency thats where you loose your rate if your not Ltd.
Even then you need to put your foot down a bit to get the right rate.
Add another £10 to £15 to that hourly rate and thats what the agency is charging the client. -

Though, I suggest you to increase your charge gradually as [(20-16)*100% = 20%] 20% pay rise may sounds alot at the first place.
