Hi guys
I am new to this.
My name is Simon and i am from Stoke on Trent. I currentley work for a fast food complany that with my ideas i increased their sales by 23% in the first year and then an additional 20% in the second, i did this through various techniques and with some pinpoint advertising. I managed to train my team to the effect that our product was better then the rest and we are a good company to work for.
After all this i have decided that i could try Freelance Marketing and spread my knowledge within other companys not just within the food industry but to try my skills in the big bad world.
As i have never done anything like this before i would appriciate any advice that anyone could give this includes how much should i charge for my services, as i have no idea! I am certain i will be a success and the phrase 'ice to eskimos' as never been far away from me.
All advice is appriciated and i will take it on board, i have my first client who is very interested to let me have a go at giving him a sales boost
Thanks in advance
Simon

$64m question "what should I charge"
Guess you've done your homework, have the low down on local freelance marketers, what they specialise in, what they charge, who their clients are etc? As a newbie freelancer I'd say just undercut the average but do your sums to see what you need to earn to make it worthwhile. Then tweak this basic hourly rate by how much you want/need the work you're quoting for...
Do you know what impact your increased sales have had on the company's profit? That would interest me more than sales % as you may have spent as much again gaining those sales..
And with little demonstrable experience yet under your belt you may need to prove your knowledge until you get rolling; start a blog promoting your services while commenting on marketing issues say, or offer clients a free marketing review where you present some potential ideas to them to whet their appetite. This doesn't mean giving away all your brainwaves, just offering titbits where they'd need to rely on your knowledge to execute those ideas.
If you get anywhere near a new client make sure you know as much about their industry as they do though, especially if you're going to diversify away from your home territory of fast food.
Good luck. -

I agree with Rizzo about starting a blog. Blog=writing, and writing is going to be your job.
