Hi,
I'm preparing a quote for a 68 page A6 full colour brochure, so I thought I'd ask around some fellow designers to see the kind of price they would quote, to make sure my quote isn't completely out.
I've worked on a lot of print before but only designs upto 10 pages.
What kinda price would people in here quote?
thanks
Sam

Once you know the above, estimate how long for each inner page and how much this will cost with regards to how much you charge per hour then x 66, usually the cover takes longer so price that separate then add it on. You may want to offer 5% discount on the overall price, maybe. -

Sam,
i would try to give your client a fixed price for the whole job but failing that give them a day rate. 150-200 a day.
All depends on how quickly you can finish the job, if the job will take you hours per page then you need to make sure you cover your back.
i would ask them for a brief, outlineing the complexity of the pages.
I hope this helps. good luck. -

in the past i have quoted an hour a page (that should include initial set up/design and then time for amendments) my hourly rate is £30. now i realise, that clients would not be prepared to pay that much for a job, so i would come down in price or set a fixed fee, with any amendments charged for by the hour.
i.e last big job of about the 66 page mark i charged out at just under the £700 mark, with an hourly rate of £25 for amendments.
hope this helps you out

Have you been supplied all the images and text for the job?
Also, have the pages been set to a template which you will follow etc?
A day rate is OK, but £200 a day, £1000 a week sounds OK, but depending on your speed, I think I could bury it in a week with no other interuption. So £1000 would not be enough for me, without wanting to sound greedy!
There will also be no doubt amends to make etc.
Plus consider tax to pay after the job.
Not for me to say, but I would base it on an agreed hourly rate of approx £35. That way, the clock ticks at your own choice! ;)
Only my opinion, not saying its right!
Hope you get what you want anyway Sam.
