Salary: £36,575 - £38,575 What you'll be doing: Conducting ship trials and surveys and communicating with customers and suppliers Carrying out investigations into operational problems or developments, develop, and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team Supporting the development of best practice to increase the capability, performance of tools and processes Producing Special layouts, detail parts list and inventories through AutoCAD design Your skills and experiences: Essential: AutoCAD Design experience and in addition to this, having the ability to produce detail manufacturing An understanding of Detailed System and Technical Engineering Drawings including Manufacturing Drawings Knowledge of Ship system engineering Drawing ie, Diagrammatic and Piping Isometrics and also ship systems materials and equipment(Symbols) In depth knowledge of maritime warship systems ie fluid base systems, mechanical systems. Able to perform as a minimum basic pressure loss and flow calculations, with a view to sizing pipework in designs. Design Services Team: Design Services are the BAE Systems Maritime 'in service' technical support cell located within Portsmouth Naval Base. We employ approx. 180 personnel across all disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical & Combat Systems (ECS), Structures / Outfit (S&O) and HVAC to create modification design packages and reports for installation and integration on legacy warships. Contract Electrical Engineer - 📍 Location: Ireland 📅 Contract Role | Full-Time �'� Industry: Biopharmaceuticals / Engineering About the Role My client is seeking a highly experienced and driven Contract Electrical Engineer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Electrical Maintenance Program. This is a pivotal role for an electrical systems expert who thrives in a regulated, high-performance environment and is passionate about safety, compliance, and innovation. Key Responsibilities As the Electrical Systems SME, you will: Lead the creation and execution of a structured preventative and predictive electrical maintenance program. Ensure compliance with European Electrical Standards and ETCI regulations. Develop and maintain detailed electrical infrastructure drawings and hierarchies using AutoCAD. Update and manage the Maximo CMMS with all electrical assets and job plans. Oversee maintenance and compliance of critical systems including emergency lighting, fire alarms, UPS, generators, and more. Manage site-wide electrical documentation, SOPs, and safety signage. Coordinate and lead site electrical power-down/up events with minimal operational impact. Represent the site during FM Global inspections and internal audits. Develop and maintain ATEX registers, PM programs, and IP rating maps. Provide technical leadership and support across multidisciplinary projects. What You'll Bring Qualifications:Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering OR National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering + Degree in Management Experience: 5+ years as a qualified Electrician with deep knowledge of HV, MV, and LV systems. Proven track record in electrical maintenance program development and project leadership. Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of European electrical standards and compliance frameworks. Proficient in AutoCAD, Maximo CMMS, and electrical risk assessment. Excellent project management, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
