The R&D engineer participates in the creation and development of new IT products across different domains. They work with marketing teams and the project manager to understand and execute the client's project as a team.
The R&D engineer studies the specifications (deadlines, schedule, pricing, etc.) and defines the functional requirements with the client after advising them based on their subject matter expertise. They will ultimately transcribe their results by specifying the tools needed for product development. They study the product's feasibility and write the technical specifications following the IT product's functional characteristics.
The R&D engineer selects tools to optimize testing. These tests are conducted to verify the product's compliance. They then study the obtained results and make necessary corrections to perfectly meet the client's requirements.
Once all these steps are completed, they file the patent application.
The R&D engineer transmits the technical specifications to the production teams and maintains continuous contact with them to discuss any potential issues encountered.
They work under the direction of the R&D project manager and the R&D studies director.

Our fast paced start up is currently searching for a Senior MEMS R&D Engineer to be responsible for designing and developing new MEMS devices. The role will involve studying existing technology and creating new novel MEMS concepts. Contributing to MEMS wafer process requirements will be required as well as modelling and simulation. Participation in project planning activities, in particular for estimation of time/effort needed for sensor development tasks will be a critical part of the role.
