UAT Technician

UAT Technician Salary: £31,300 - £38,000 Location: Cambridge, Hybrid Contract: Permanent, Full time (35 hours per week) We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge. We are recruiting for a UAT Technician to join a team of dedicated professional testers dedicated to QA and getting it right for the Customer. About the role Reporting to the UAT Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out the UAT for applications developed across many of the organisation's initiatives, which include computer based testing, e-learning and web-based stakeholder support systems. This will involve the detailed preparation and execution of test cases for the various applications across different environments, the logging of defects and reporting to project stakeholders on testing progress. As a User Acceptance Testing Technician, you will also be required to liaise with project managers and developers to ensure that defects are categorised, prioritised and resolved within agreed timescales. About you You will be required to demonstrate a high level of general IT expertise within an MS Windows environment, including knowledge of database and website technologies. Thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes and have exposure to formal methodologies like V-Model, Agile, Waterfall. Experience in using HP Quality Centre, BugZilla, JIRA or similar test management software would also be beneficial. You will be educated at least to A-level standard and will ideally have a formal software testing or computing-related qualification. Previous work experience in an IT support or software testing environment would be a distinct advantage. You must be confident, enthusiastic and able to work in a high pressure environment as part of a close-knit team. Excellent attention to detail is essential, as is a customer focussed mentality.
