Job Title: Digital Application Assistant

Location: Washington Tyne & Wear, Radway Green Cheshire or Glascoed South Wales

Salary: £37,263

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating across the IM&T department to assess the IT portfolio and identify instances of current and future obsolescence
  • Working with internal and external teams to plan roadmaps for applications and services
  • Creating and maintaining a plan to update or replace outdated systems, and collaborating with the application certification and deployment team
  • Reporting progress on updates and replacements to key stakeholders
  • Updating processes and guides to keep applications and services supported and current
  • Identifying and reporting potential risks and opportunities
  • Providing general support for managing the lifecycle of applications within the IM&T team

Your skills and experiences:

Essential

  • Experience in managing software applications
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders to achieve objectives
  • Knowledge and practical experience in an IT environment
  • Ability to create clear, detailed, and accurate reports
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current IT technologies

Desirable

  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture and associated toolsets
  • Experience in addressing and updating outdated IT systems
  • Familiarity with the certification process for applications

The Information Management and Technology Team:

Join our dynamic Information Management and Technology (IM&T) team, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering reliable, cost-effective IT services to a global organisation. As a Digital Application Assistant, you'll be at the heart of supporting the continuous assessment of our IT portfolio, tackling obsolescence issues, security vulnerabilities and contributing to a range of activities across applications, infrastructure, and services. This exciting opportunity offers you the chance to collaborate with both internal and external teams across BAE Systems Land UK and beyond, engaging with stakeholders from multiple functions and promoting cross-sector working/solutions.
