Job Title: Data Governance Specialist

Salary: Circa £42,000 Depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

Supporting the collation and generation of the monthly business and customer review packs
Conducting in depth analysis of key FMSP budgets (5G EDM & 5H Other Engineering) to support monthly reviews and forecasting
Design and maintain a suite of tailored, system driven, data visualisations to enable evidence-based decision making
Supporting the SR (Ship Repair) Data Analysts in the development, management and governance of a streamlined process that allows for rapid, controlled and consistent data visualisations to be created
Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

Ability to articulate complex information to stakeholders by building strong relationships, who may not have the same understanding of the information
Analytical and inquisitive, with the ability to confidently challenge data where required
Experience with data governance, being able to negotiate with and influence key stakeholders to gain support for governance initiatives
Desirable:

Good understanding of data and analytics methodologies and toolsets e.g., Alteryx and Tableau

The Governance and Analytics team:

Our team forms part of the Business and Governance team within Ship Repair. Ship Repair is part of the Warship Support business stream under Maritime Services and is responsible for planning and executing all the work carried out the RN Ships. This role reports to the Cost Performance Manager and will provide a central point for creation and review of monthly reporting packs and analysis of customer and BAE budgets. This role will also involve some data and analytics work using Alteryx and Tableau.

As you engage with individuals from various departments and at varying levels of seniority, you will have the chance to grow and improve your knowledge and abilities, which could eventually lead to more senior roles in an international company.
