Your world of expertise

We are looking for Software Developers to join our Data Services tribe. In this role, you will design, build, and operate AWS based systems that deliver weather data for critical Met Office services.

Your key duties

Successful candidates will join one of the following teams, depending on their expertise and fit with the team's needs:

Post processing and analysis:

This role is part of a cross functional team with scientist and technology working together to deliver the next generation of cloud-based post processing. As part of this role you will be designing, implementing and supporting a number of live services. The science enabled by these services helps power many data APIs and downstream products and services.

As a Software Developer in Data Services, you will create systems bridging the gap between our front-end products and the back-end science, ensuring that we are able to make the very best use of our ever-evolving supercomputer capability. With many terabytes of data passing through our infrastructure daily, the position demands a deep understanding of system scaling and performance optimisation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a cutting-edge development team that has a wide-reaching and positive impact, helping people to stay safe and thrive.
