Freelance job SCOM Engineer

We are currently looking for a SCOM Engineer for a banking client in central London.This is a contract role inside IR35 for initially 6 months.The successful candidate will be required to come to the London office ideally 2 days per week.You will be working with project teams to support the design and delivery of monitoring requirements as well as supporting the monitoring tools day to day in order to ensure ongoing protection and high availability of all of the client's technology components.For this role you will have demonstrable experience in the following:*Expert in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) including Management Pack authoring using Visual Studio Authoring Extensions (VSAE)*An understanding and experience of different monitoring technologies and how they can be exploited to deliver insights and business value*Monitoring platforms serving multiple business units and use cases (such as Security, IT Operations, transaction monitoring)*Experience with integrating monitoring tools with data sources and other monitoring, automation and ITSM tools*Automating manual process and driving efficiencies*Have strong data analysis skills, correlating data from multiple data sources*Working on multiple work-streams to deadlines, taking care of conflicting and changing demands across a sophisticated portfolio*Good judgement, problem-solving and analytical skills. Have the ability to balance and analyse a variety of internal and external sources of information.*Have familiarity with Agile ways of working as well as working within an ITIL framework for support responsibilities*Have good social interpersonal skills with an ability to interpret and present information to recipients including senior management, using suitable modes of communication.*Have a strong record of forming and maintaining positive relationships with business colleagues and demonstrating a curiosity about and understanding of business processes.*Proven influencing skills required to engage, influence and challenge partners*Have knowledge of cloud environments, infrastructure automation tools and security.Desirable experience:*Solid grasp of some these technologies: SCORCH, xMatters, SquaredUp, Azure for DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Prometheus, Azure Monitor*Practical expertise in performance tuning, optimization and problems analysis.
