what do the professional designers on here do if a potential client or a lead asks for a sample
eg: they need a ogo for their web company, i showed them over 25 logo samples of my other projects so they get a sense of style....yet they asked for me to send them samples of logos for their own company.
do any of you bother with these people who just want concepts for free and can then take your idea or do you just let them know this isnt how you work.

Get them to sign your terms & cons as officially you are starting to design for them, even if its concept ideas. I would tread very carefully also, if they can not see your potential from 25 logos either they are planning to disappear with your idea or the 25 logos where crap lol -

Requesting a small fee up front is a good idea too and make sure all correspondence has copyright credit to yourself (you could even lay a watermark over each logo idea which will make it very difficult and pointless to remove).
Also, if you are creating logos from Illustrator and sending the ideas in pdf format, make sure the images are raster and NOT vector, otherwise it is very easy to resave back as an eps file. Putting a password lock on the pdf also helps. -
