Hi there - I would very much appreciate some info please. I am a fairly new copywriter and to date have only been asked to produce the odd piece of copy for a site. Although I was trained as a copywriter via a correspondence course, it took place some time ago and the section covering websites was very poor. Therefore I am somewhat hazy about where my responsibilities start and end e.g. is SEO my responsibility? What about HTML? Navigation? If anyone can help me just as soon as possible I will be very grateful as I may have work coming my way very soon! (I am less concerned about the writing side as my notes cover that). Thank you!

SEO copy is a whole new area I'd say, and one worth gemming up on as a skill on your CV.
Navigation is really web design, whereas you're being asked to produce copy for a site. It depends on the client's brief at the end of the day, what's the objective of the copy you're paid to write? Arguably all site copy should be optimised for the major search engines (as well as achieving whatever other objectives they lay out) but it's worth asking how much importance they place on this, you may be able to educate them. You could always team up with an SEO expert if they are happy to invest in this.
let us know how you get on!

I would suggest you look for a freelancer, as they can offer quite competitive prices. Search places such as internet marketing forums and freelance sites and post your thread there. People who re willing to do the job will contact you. I would also suggest you always ask for sample as you want to make sure you will get quality content. And as for the payment - do not pay for all in advance, you can agree to pay for parts. -

Do some googleing about "seo copywriting tips" and u'll find plenty of info.
Then just work on your style, best idea - find best web copywriters out there and see their style, how they work the words etc.
Good luck!
