Software Engineer

Are you passionate about developing cutting-edge software solutions and driving automation? We're seeking a Software Engineer on behalf of a leading expert in Smart TV technology to join their dynamic and expanding team in Bristol. In this role, you'll be instrumental in developing and enhancing TV-centric automated test and certification tools, while also collaborating with a dedicated and passionate team of engineers, helping to up-skill them in automation. During your 3-month probation period, this will be a full-time office role to help you get up to speed with the position. Following this period, the role will transition to a hybrid model, with 3 days a week in the office. The office is located in Bristol, so candidates need to live within a reasonable commuting distance. What you'll be doing: • Design and build automated test and certification tools tailored for TV applications, including the HbbTV Test harness. • Develop, maintain, and review TV conformance tests, focusing on HbbTV test cases. • Analyse product requirements and industry standards to ensure compliance. • Conduct research, design, and implement frameworks for automated software validation. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. • Manage and resolve defects through effective triage processes. What you'll need: Essential Skills: • Proficiency in Python and at least one other language (preferably JavaScript). • Proven experience working within automated environments. • Hands-on experience in developing software within a Linux environment. • Experience with performing code reviews. • Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of problems. • Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually. • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal. • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and methodologies (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) for automating software development pipelines. Embedded Software Engineer

You'll play a key role in developing and enhancing their cutting-edge embedded software suite, including our industry-leading real-time operating system, SAFERTOS®. This will be a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, it will be 4 days during probation. What you'll be doing: • Develop and optimise SAFERTOS®, including porting to various processor architectures. • Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262). • Create high-quality design and testing documentation. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions for global clients.
