In addition to an excellent academic background, you will need: Strong track record designing complex mechatronics products in industry using SolidWorks. Good experience developing products through to manufacture and beyond. Knowledgeable with standard DFA/DFM techniques, specifically including plastic injection moulding. Additional expertise designing opto-mechanical or fluidic systems would be beneficial as would experience working in a regulated industry or working with outsourced development partners.
