You'll have the chance to build great working relationships with the Application Operations Engineers in your team and with other multi-disciplinary teams, including Service Owners; DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers; Architects.

As a Senior Application Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the support, management, maintenance and improvement initiatives for a single application or a suite of applications.

You and your team will provide support to a range of technologies, from Linux to Windows servers, SQL and Non-SQL databases, Cloud and On-Premises based servers and various third-party software.

You'll be the escalation point on application issues, collaborating with other business and technical teams to assist with the development of ongoing reliability, performance, and support.

There is a requirement for you to support your applications as part of a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week rota. This is on a week-by-week basis covering mornings, days, evenings and overnight shifts.

You will need the skills to:

• Technical Ability- Strong technical ability in a range of technologies and systems resulting in improvements to services.
• Working Relationships- Proficiency of working within a team and with other stakeholders to ensure service outcomes are achieved.
• Continual Improvement- Evidence of successfully implementing improvement initiatives from a technical and process angle.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool and Newcastle-upon-Tyne. whichever is most convenient for you.

Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £43,347

Pension: You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth up to £12,557
