You will have excellent communication skills along with the ability to reduce complex information into an easy to understand form for other team members. You will ideally be skilled in managing a team or have some experience of technical leadership. Key Responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer Machinery & Mechanical Handling Design As a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for developing designs for machinery and equipment used by various industries. You will work on projects that require innovative thinking and creative solutions, and you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings required for manufacturing purposes. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the designs comply with industry-standard codes and regulations. 3D CAD Design & FEA (Finite Element Analysis) As a mechanical design engineer, you will be required to use 3D CAD for Design & FEA tools such as ANSYS to perform calculations necessary when predicting how objects behave under different physical conditions before manufacture starts. You will be responsible for ensuring that the designs are robust and can withstand different physical conditions. Design Codes In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting technical standards set out within relevant regional rules governing engineering practices across multiple sectors including automotive, aerospace, etc. You will work closely with other members of the team to ensure that the designs comply with all relevant regulations and standards. Qualifications Required for Mechanical Design Engineer Role: The ideal candidate should have at least a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university program specializing in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) along with hands-on experience working specifically towards Heavy Fabrication / Welded Structures, Systems or Machinery development project(s). Skills Required for Mechanical Design Engineer Role: Mechanical Engineering Knowledge - Strong understanding about mechanics related concepts i.e., force analysis/kinematics/dynamics/fluid dynamics/etc. which could help candidates excel in their job profile requirements.
