Required : Virtualisation SMELocation : BasingstokeDuration : 6 Months +Clearance required : SC or DV LevelBrief overview on the role/project:This role is required as part of a large programme to design and upgrade the virtualised platform that enables services for our customer. The candidate will have extensive experience of implementation and troubleshooting technical issues with complex vSphere solutions, design documentation updates, and hands on administration of vSphere. The candidate will take ownership of issues raised during test stages and be the main of contact for virtualisation related work on this programme. The candidate will work closely with other teams (network architects, test, service architects, etc) to ensure stability and growth.Mandatory skills:* Extensive experience of at least vSphere 6.7 knowledge preferably vSphere 7, implementation, administration, use of and design.* vRops knowledge and experience preferable.* Strong knowledge and understanding of resilient network solutions to support vSphere solutions.* Good experience of enterprise SAN solutions and specifically iSCSI focussed.* AD, DNS, DHCP, Routing, Vlans, RBAC, port groups with knowledge and impacts on a vSphere platform.* Linux knowledge is good to have.* Experienced in analysis and trouble-shooting technical issues, and supporting the implementation and test phases of the solution and successful handover to into service/support.* Solid understanding of the project end-to-end cycle.* Enterprise Application and Enterprise Management awareness.* Experienced with producing BOMs, cost models.* Responsible for any outstanding design documentation updates for their area of the overall solution, and ensure all designs produced are capable of passing review and governance.Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Typically this will include some, or all, of: AD; DNS; BIOS; Windows O/S; ESXi hosts; virtual switches; storage; virtualised CISCO License server, ISE; MOVEit automation and file transfer; Trellix anti-virus.Mandatory skills: -Joining a complex programme, and help to deliver the infrastructure (virtualisation, storage, WINTEL, IMPEX and CISCO ISE) projects.-Work as part of a cross-functional team of experts comprising architects, network engineers, integrators, and testers frequently remotely; occasionally face-to-face meetings -may be required to solve collaboratively technical problems.-Install, configure and document, a range of software to build and maintain INTEGRATION; Pre-PROD; and four PROD environments.-Be prepared to undergo training to install, configure and document software that is novel to the solution, and to become a recognised source of expertise.-Be prepared to work as part of a team that solves technical problems with the system-integration of multiple software products; and advise and assist testers to validate the solution.-Be prepared to explain the solution to non-technical team members such as project managers.Desirable skills:- Team-working, good communications skills, remote working and sharing knowledge between team members.- Learning, and applying recently gained skills, to solve technical problems.- Install, configure and document a range of software to build environments.
