Ventilation Engineer

Ventilation Engineer Location: RG7 4PR , located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking . Package: £39,280 - £50,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience) Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. Are you an experienced Ventilation Engineer interested in delivering the Engineering content across multiple Facilities within the Conventional and Nuclear Projects' portfolio? The Lead in AWE's Ventilation Operations has an vacancy available that will give you the opportunity to carry out the following: Support existing facilities and new projects relating to all matters associated with ventilation and filtration Undertake facility visits and walkdowns as necessary to gain familiarisation of ventilation systems and arrangements and provide advice when issues may arise and/or when modifications are proposed Co-ordinate and undertake comprehensive end to end inspections and assessments of ventilation systems in nuclear, other hazardous and conventional facilities Support the updating and configuration of ventilation documentation and the associated databases. Develop and produce ventilation design proposals and support the review process for design schemes from concept through to detailed design Support a program of improvements to ensure the AWE continues to meet relevant good practice (RGP) in all matters relating to ventilation and filtration Ensure that all relevant legislation, standards, procedures, and processes are followed in demonstrating legislative compliance associated with ventilation and LEV workplace control Everyone who works at AWE brings unique skills and perspectives to the table. Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: Familiar with all aspects of ventilation systems including design, inspection, testing and operations The ability to multi-task and be able to plan work effectively, ensuring tasks are undertaken in order of priority Good technical skills including fault finding and decision making Great communication skills, with a particular aptitude for report and documentation writing An understanding of Health and Safety, and relevant legislation such as Ionising Radiation Regulations, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Asbestos, Control of Lead at Work (CLAW), Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations, CDM Regulations, Controlling Airborne contaminants at work (HSG258) Practical knowledge and experience in the Examination and Test of LEV ventilation plant and LEV Commissioning is desirable but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate Ideally, we would expect candidates to have an ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent vocational qualification Some reasons we think you'll love it here: AWE has wide range of benefits to suit you.
