About the role Reporting to the UAT Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for carrying out the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) for applications developed across many of the organisation's initiatives, which include computer-based testing, e-learning and web-based stakeholder support systems. You will be required to task-manage members of the team and co-ordinate several projects simultaneously: deputising for the work of the UAT Manager, and attending senior strategy and planning meetings on a regular basis. The role will also involve the detailed preparation and execution of test cases for the various applications across different environments, the logging of defects and reporting to project stakeholders on testing progress. As a UAT Assistant Manager, you will also be required to work with project managers and developers, etc. to ensure that defects are categorised, prioritised and resolved within agreed timescales. About you You will be required to demonstrate a high level of general IT expertise within an MS Windows environment, including thorough knowledge of database and website technologies. You will need to have thorough knowledge of structured test methods and processes, and experience of working with formal methodologies such as V-Model, Agile and Waterfall. Experience in using JIRA, qTest, HP Quality Centre, or similar test management software is essential. You will have a formal software testing or equivalent computing-related qualification. Previous experience of working in an IT support or software testing environment is required. You will also have experience of managing/task managing colleagues - ideally in a software testing environment. You must be confident in communicating and dealing with people at all levels, enthusiastic, and able to work in a high-pressure environment as part of a close-knit team. You must have a methodical and detailed approach to your testing work, but also be able to think strategically and engage with the wider system including meeting the requirements of senior stakeholders, and have outstanding communication skills.
