As the new End User Compute Architect, you will be joining a team who have ownership of the design, development, management, operation and full lifecycle of Desktop and Cloud Infrastructure including but not limited to Microsoft MECM/SCCM, Microsoft Intune, JAMF Pro, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), client device engineering and cloud AV solutions. Key Duties & Responsibilities for the End User Compute Architect include: - Managing the creation of Operating System Images and the release and update of applications through SCCM, Intune, AVD and JAMF Pro. - Identify problems and errors prior to or when they occur and log all such incidents in a timely manner with the required level of detail. - As part of a team you will lead the development, troubleshooting and support of SCCM, Intune, JAMF and various other EUC technologies. - Support and enhance the current End User Computing technologies deployed throughout the University. If you would like to have an informal discussion regarding this role, please contact Uel Taylor, End User Compute Manager. - ABOUT YOU - - A degree or postgraduate qualification in an Information Technology, Computer Science related discipline or demonstrate an appropriate level and range of professional experience - Experience in the creation of automated processes to assist with OS deployments, patch management, software distribution and policy configurations in a networked desktop environment and/or mobile deployment - Demonstrable experience in at least three of the following areas: - Cloud Mobile Device Management technologies e.g. Endpoint Manager/Jamf Pro - MECM configuration including Image Deployment, Application Packaging, Patch Management etc. - Experience of delivering Desktop as a Service and/or VDI solutions incorporating modern Cloud approaches, tools and techniques - Management of Endpoint Protection Platforms including Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Next Generation Detection tools - Scripting experience - preferably PowerShell - Experience of supporting and developing desktop and mobile technologies and their associated application profiles - Evidence of End User Compute service design, testing, operational delivery, and service monitoring - A willingness to travel between campuses as required to meet the needs of the post Ulster University holds a Silver Athena SWAN Award in recognition of our commitment to advancing Gender equality.
