Head of Engineering (VP) - Russian Speaking Overview: We are excited to be partnering with a dynamic FinTech company that provides open-source software solutions for the financial sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Russian-speaking VP of Engineering to lead and scale the fast-growing engineering team. You will oversee the development of high-quality products, ensuring deadlines are met and processes are streamlined. Collaborating closely with the product team, you’ll align on priorities and deliver key features. With team members located globally, their UK operations are experiencing rapid growth. This role offers the chance to join our founding UK team and play a pivotal role in the next phase of expansion. You’ll experience the vibrant energy of a start-up while benefiting from the resources and support of a larger, well-established company. Role & Responsibilities: Lead and manage large engineering teams (200+ members) across various roles, including managers, developers, DevOps, QA, and other technical positions. Build a capable team of technical leaders and managers who can operate independently, overseeing and delivering projects efficiently. Cultivate team engagement by setting growth objectives, celebrating successes, and maintaining high levels of motivation. Oversee multiple projects concurrently, assess risks, prioritize effectively, and ensure on-time product delivery. Drive business success by managing project timelines efficiently while maintaining product quality standards. Design and implement strategies to accelerate development processes and speed up release cycles. Collaborate closely with product management to align priorities and deliver key features within set deadlines. Manage the engineering budget, optimizing resources to improve team productivity. Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for a seamless build, testing, and deployment process. Work with DevOps teams to ensure infrastructure stability and scalability. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure team performance and delivery success, such as release timelines and defect counts. Essential Skills & Requirements: Proficiency in both Russian and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Experience in managing and owning enterprise-level technical environments and applications. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2) are an advantage.
