System Administrator

• Knowledge and practical experience in VMware virtualization technology. Configure, upgrade, deploy. • Knowledge and practical experience in configuring iSCSI targets for virtualized environments. • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Server Technologies; Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange. • Knowledge of ITIL IT service management model; • Knowledge of Incident and Problem Management processes and experience in this area; • Ability to write technical documentation and user guides; • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. • Problem Solving - Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all fruitful sources for answers; can see hidden problems; looks beyond the obvious and doesn't stop at the first answer • Customer Focus - Focuses on customer needs and satisfaction; acts with customers in mind; sets high standards for quality and quantity; monitors and maintains quality and productivity; works in a systematic, methodical and orderly way; consistently achieves project goals; gets first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in products and services; establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect. • Must have practical experience in VMware virtualization technology, including VCSA configuration, ESX upgrade, and bare metal deployment. • Must be able to deploy at short notice to resolve equipment failures on virtualized mission-critical systems. IT and Systems Officer

A major change project has taken place over the last few years to transform our IT systems and support. We have moved to a cloud solution based on Microsoft 365. To support our internal IT roles, we are supported by a managed service provider who are providing ongoing day-to-day support for all our IT users. This is an exciting role that will play a key part in the delivery of Cranstoun's IT and digital strategy. You will support the delivery of major business systems projects and support the day-to-day work of the IT team. You will work closely with the Head of IT and the other IT and Systems Officer in supporting the IT infrastructure and delivering projects to improve the provision of IT and knowledge and digital capabilities across the organisation. If you are motivated to make a positive difference, have excellent communication skills, able to manage and prioritise your work alongside working as part of a team then this is a great opportunity for you. Experience of managing a large estate of laptops and mobile devices, Office 365 system administration, dealing with third party suppliers, and working in a customer focussed IT support capacity are highly desirable. The role involves regular travel to sites, services and premises to support the IT function and infrastructure.
