Key Responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer Machinery & Mechanical Handling Design As a mechanical design engineer, you will be responsible for developing designs for machinery and equipment used by various industries. You will work on projects that require innovative thinking and creative solutions, and you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings required for manufacturing purposes. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the designs comply with industry-standard codes and regulations. 3D CAD Design & FEA (Finite Element Analysis) As a mechanical design engineer, you will be required to use 3D CAD for Design & FEA tools such as ANSYS to perform calculations necessary when predicting how objects behave under different physical conditions before manufacture starts.
