Your future duties and responsibilities As a System Architect, you will provide Oracle eBusiness Suite technical leadership to developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams, ensuring best practices are followed. You will prepare and present technical documentation, architectural blueprints, and progress reports to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with business needs. Additionally, you will work closely with senior government stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with operational objectives. Your responsibilities will also include defining optimisation options for Oracle eBusiness Suite performance and storage capacity to support ongoing business needs. You will design and oversee Oracle eBusiness Suite integrations with external data stores, reporting tools, and document management systems. Moreover, you will provide expertise on Oracle eBusiness Suite user access controls, encryption, and secure data handling, ensuring data security and compliance. Key duties: • Define and architect the data deletion and archiving approach and strategy for the legacy Oracle eBusiness Suite platform, including assumptions, risks, dependencies, and testing/rollback approach. • Work closely with database and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless data migration and integrity. • Establish monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track system health and data compliance. • Optimise Oracle eBusiness Suite performance, indexing, and database management for long-term efficiency. • Lead the end-to-end Oracle data archiving and clean-up process. Required qualifications to be successful in this role To excel in this role, you must have strong technical leadership experience with a background in Oracle eBusiness Suite. You should be confident in defining architectural approaches, analysing risks, and ensuring solutions align with business and technical objectives. The ability to communicate effectively with business, delivery, and operational stakeholders is essential. Your expertise should include defining and managing data archiving strategies, ensuring compliance, and leading large-scale data migration projects. You should also have a deep understanding of Oracle database performance optimisation, indexing, and storage management. We're looking for a range of the following: • Strong experience in Oracle eBusiness Suite development, DBA, or engineering, acting as a subject matter expert. • Proven ability to define and implement end-to-end solution architecture strategies. • Expertise in database optimisation, purging, and migration techniques. • Strong technical leadership and guidance capabilities. • Ability to assess risks, financial constraints, and business case considerations. • Experience supporting teams delivering and operating Oracle-based solutions. Job Title: Senior Mission Systems Engineer (Onboard Computing) Location: Warton. Salary: £54,793 + depending on experience What you'll be doing: Working with a focus on the Onboard Computing Systems Domain, this role is expected to include: Supporting overall system designs for FCAS products and leading various activities as part of the overall team responsible for developing computing architectures and computing hardware and software design solutions that feed directly into the FCAS programme Interfacing into other parts of the FCAS national and international organisation as a recognised holder of a wide range of knowledge in specialised areas of interest, which could include experience in some or all of systems architecting / concepting, IMA based computing approaches, MBSE, security/cryptography, system safety, HW / SW modelling & simulation, HW / SW Tooling, Complex Electronic Hardware and / or secure networking.
